Who we are
Tendoryu Italia is the school of Aikido which represents in Italy Sensei Kenji Shimizu.
Shimizu Sensei is the last uchideshi (direct disciple and assistant) of the Aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba and founded himself a School, the
Tendoryu (literally "the way to heaven"). Already fourth dan in Kodokan Judo when he started studying Aikdio under the guidance of O-Sensei, he became
8th Dan and started to spread his knowledge across the world to several Aikido teachers. In 2002 he has been awarded by the foregin Minister of Japan
for his effort in spreading the Japanese discipline of peace and harmony internationally.
